The schedule for Winter and Spring 2020 is now available.
The Winter season’s discussion non-fiction groups include Upheaval by Jared Diamond, The Doomsday Machine by Daniel Ellsberg, the Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions, and The Library Book by Susan Orlean among others. Some of the fictional offerings are stories by Isaac Bashevis Singer, The Booker Prize winner, Hotel du Lac by Anita Brookner, and Absolom Absolom! by William Faulkner. In addition there are our movie excursions to the Laemmle and armchair travels to Norway and Russia.
Our safaris for winter are exciting, too! We have a visit to the Grammy Museum and a docent tour of the Greene & Greene Gamble House.
Spring is no less filled with great groups: Examples are Elastic: Unlocking Your Brain’s Ability to Embrace Change by Leonard Mlodinow, Seven Brief Lessons on Physics by Carlo Rovelli, and An Excess Male by Maggie Shen King. Fiction too with Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
Spring safaris will visit the Huell Howser Archives and the Los Angeles Central Library. We also offer the Laemmle movies again.

Dues-paying members receive priority over non-members. You will receive confirmation of your selected group(s) by email if you have email.
PALAC offers additional advantages and activities to members. Membership subscription for an individual is $30 per calendar year and $50 for couples. Membership for the latter half of the year is half the above fees.
